Meet Lizzie B. Brown
My hearts, I’m so excited to introduce you to Lizzie B. Brown—a bi+ romance author who throws her characters straight into bed (her words!) and then gives them the pining, spice, and feels we all crave. From steamy duologies to dark paranormal worlds with vampires and angels, Lizzie’s stories are as bold as they are heartfelt. Let’s dive in!
JEN: Let’s start with the most important question in romance—are your readers safe with you? Do they get a happily ever after, or should they brace themselves?
LIZZIE: I have a duology that’s a HFN, and an ongoing series that will be a HEA.
JEN: Give us the elevator pitch—who is Lizzie B. Brown when she’s not wrangling characters into bed or writing about big feelings?
LIZZIE: I’m a bi+ romance author who loves to make my characters jump in the sack as soon as possible. I got my start writing pay-per-chapter serials for the now-defunct Kindle Vella, then published my first book in 2023—Friendsgiving with Benefits—about two bi+ besties who can’t keep their hands to themselves.
Currently, I live in the Pacific Northwest with my family and two dogs. When I’m not writing, I’m either exploring the city or curled up on the couch with a good book.
JEN: What genres light you up the most—both to read and to write?
LIZZIE: Romance for both, but horror is a fun one to read too.
JEN: Who are the authors and narrators who make you swoon? And who are the creative voices that push you to level up?
LIZZIE: Authors Kim Lorraine and Meg Anne—I’m a huge fan of their Mate Games series. My favorite narrators are Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke.
JEN: Writing can be lonely without community. Who are your ride-or-die fellow creators—the ones who cheer you on or keep you sane?
LIZZIE: Quite a few. Their support is actually why I’ve come as far as I have. (Special shout out to the Bi+ Book Gang!)
JEN: Every writer has their “golden hour.” When’s yours—when the words flow easiest and you feel most alive in your story?
LIZZIE: I’m definitely a night owl, though age seems to slowly be changing that. I create best mid-day.
JEN: And when you’re not writing, what’s your perfect “me time”?
LIZZIE: TikTok, movies, reading. I love listening to an audiobook while playing Cult of the Lamb or Stardew Valley. I also love exploring out here.
JEN: Give us a sneak peek of the projects that are keeping you up at night.
LIZZIE: I have a few different stories in progress, some of which you can read as I write by subscribing to my Patreon. I hope to have book one of Janet’s Story out in 2026. I also have a dark PNR I’ve been working on with vampires and angels—both are currently available on Patreon.
JEN: Tell us, where do your ideas come from?
LIZZIE: Sometimes it’s an idea I wished existed, sometimes it’s side characters from a current work that demand their own story. The Holiday Pact duology is actually a spin-off of a spin-off.
JEN: We all get criticism and compliments—what’s one of each that really stuck with you?
LIZZIE: The toughest is when people say my Holiday Pact duology isn’t queer enough. Both characters are bi+, but some readers dismiss it because the pairing is MF. It’s very bi-erasure type comments.
The biggest compliments are from readers who connect deeply with my characters’ messiness and their bi+ representation.
JEN: If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been told “not queer enough”, I’d be rolling in dough. I’m sorry that’s feedback you’ve gotten.
If you could sit down with your younger writer self, what advice would you give her before she hit “publish” for the first time?
LIZZIE: Be patient. Writing takes time. Publishing takes time. Finding your audience takes time.
JEN: Agreed! I hope this interview helps you find more of your people.
And the toughest question of all—of all your messy, spicy, pining babies, who’s your favorite character you’ve written, and why?
LIZZIE: Either Nixon from my Holiday Pact duology or Azrael from my dark PNR. Nixon’s a nerdy gamer boy with tattoos, cock piercings, and slutty little glasses. He’s also got big feelings. Probably Nixon.
My hearts, please go check out her books at lizziebbrown.com, follow her journey, and support her upcoming releases (because we all need nerdy gamer boys with big feelings in our lives).
Are you a human author? A human who narrates audiobooks? A human who designs book covers? Or a human who does PR and promotion for other authors? I'd love to interview you, too. Let me know when you’re ready!
