Happy National Cookie Day!

Listen, my hearts — it’s National Cookie Day, which means two things are absolutely true:

  1. You deserve a treat.

  2. You also deserve a book that goes with that treat.

And since I believe in pairing vibes like some kind of cozy romance sommelier, here are three delightful romance novels that are perfect companions to a plate (or three) of cookies.

Let’s dunk into it.

Tough Cookie (Donner Bakery, Book 3) by Talia Hunter/Smartypants Romance, narrated by Stefanie Kay & Ryan Lee Dunlap

This one is a spin-off from my beloved, all-too-often-recommended Winston Bros universe — and it gives exactly what you want on Cookie Day: sweetness, a little heat, and that signature Smartypants small-town charm that feels like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket the second the oven beeps.

If you want romance that tastes like a perfectly baked cookie — warm, soft center, crisp edges — start here.

Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake (Winner Bakes All, Book 1) by Alexis Hall, narrated by Fiona Hardingham

Okay, yes — these books are about baking cakes, not cookies. BUT!!! They’re so cute, so funny, so queer, and so emotionally satisfying that they absolutely belong on any dessert-inspired reading list. Alexis Hall brings charm, chaos, and bisexual disaster energy to the Great British Bake-Off world, and honestly? It’s delicious. Highly recommend consuming with frosted sugar cookies.

Take a Number (Wait With Me, Book 4) by Amy Daws, narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Erin Mallon

For Cookie Day, sometimes you just want FUN. Fake dating? Check. Bantery chemistry? Check. Adorable chaos in a bakery? Also check. (Yes, again, not cookies… but baked goods are in the family. Let’s not be purists.)

What are you reading today?

Tell me your favorite cookie-themed (or cookie-adjacent) romance in the comments — or, let’s be honest, your favorite actual cookie. I’m partial to chocolate chip, but only if they’re slightly underbaked and eaten immediately.

Happy Cookie Day, my hearts. May your pages be sweet and your edges never burn. 🍪💛
