Bisexual Visibility Day
A Little Bi Chaos, A Lot of Truth
Every September 23rd, we celebrate Bisexual Visibility Day—and I’ll be honest, for me it’s not about glitter cannons or parade floats. It’s about claiming the pink, purple, and blue woven into who I am. It’s about lighting a candle, shuffling a tarot deck, and pulling a card that says: you are whole.
Because for most of my life, I didn’t feel that way.
My Story (and Why This Day Matters)
I can still hear the voices of “friends” who told me to pick a side. (As if attraction were a buffet and I was piling too much on my plate.) Their words made me smaller, quieter, less visible.
And yet—here I am. Bi. Queer. Spiritual. Chaotic in the best way.
When I write my books, when I share my journals, when I post here—it’s for the version of me who didn’t see herself anywhere. It’s for the girl who was told she was too queer for church and too spiritual for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s for anyone who has ever felt like they didn’t fit neatly in a box.
Being bisexual is not about halves. It’s not confusion. It’s not indecision. It’s wholeness, fluidity, and the radical freedom of loving across gender lines.
We deserve to be seen in our relationships, in our art, in our spirituality. We deserve to show up as all of who we are without apology. That’s why today exists: to remind us (and everyone else) that bisexuality is valid, beautiful, and here to stay.
Three Romance Reads to Celebrate Bi+ Joy
You know me—I always return to books. Because stories are lifelines. They’re spells, really. And these three romances are full of the kind of bi+ magic that reminds me I’m not alone.
The Pairing by Casey McQuiston, narrated by Emma Galvin & Max Meyers
I loved this book so much I wanted to pack my suitcase halfway through. It’s funny, swoony, a little chaotic (like me), and steeped in bisexual joy. You’ll want to plan a European vacation after you read it—don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert, narrated by Ione Butler
Dani Brown is smart, ambitious, bisexual, and not here for romance… until she absolutely is. This book is hilarious, sexy, and affirming in all the ways. Talia Hibbert reminds us that bi heroines don’t have to choose between love, desire, and success. They get all of it.
A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria, narrated by Seraphine Valentine
I haven’t read this one yet, but I hear Michelle Amato is bold, bisexual, and ready to rewrite the rules of her love life in this second-chance romance with deep cultural roots.
Today, I celebrate myself—and I celebrate you. The ones who’ve been told to “pick a side.” The ones who feel too much or not enough. The ones who light candles in pink, purple, and blue and whisper: I exist. I matter. I am whole.
